Yada means "to be known"
Mission Statement
Yada supports women and children impacted by sexual exploitation and trafficking, building relationships that remind them they are seen, known and loved.
What is Yada? Yada is 501(c)(3) organization made up of a unique community of individuals who are putting love into action in the greater Madison area.
After learning of the high number of women and children being sexually exploited and/or trafficked in our city, Yada’s founder Beth Williams felt compelled to do something. Yada Fair Trade & Resale store opened its doors in 2021. The goal was to give vulnerable women a dignified shopping experience as they restarted their life. Simple interactions grew into relationships, and the support we offer expanded as we learned more from each survivor.
“I don’t know if any of you know who I used to be or where I was in life but I was one of those women being used and abused and controlled because I had an uncontrollable addiction. I gave up on life after losing all of my family and spent pretty much all of my adult years behind bars! Yada was a huge part of finding myself and my worth!! The owners name is Beth Bremer Williams and she’s amazing!! I thought that people like her didn’t exist anymore after the life I had lived!! I know you don’t know what I looked like before.. well maybe some of you do, but I am so grateful for life now!! It is possible.”
